What: ½ Mile Side by Side Racing Event.

When: April 6th and 7th. Gates open at 7AM. Mandatory drivers meeting at 8:30AM.

Where: The New Coalinga Municipal Airport.  27500 West Phelps. Coalinga, CA.

Shift-S3ctor is excited to announce that our next Airstrip Attack is a 2 day event, April 6th and 7th at the New Coalinga Municipal Airport in Central California (3 hours north of LA, 2 hours south of the Bay area). This will be a 1/2 mile, side by side racing event. Registration opens on February 6th. We are limiting this event to 100 cars per day and expect to sell out quickly. Once we are full, registration will close and we will begin a wait list.

We have some great additions and improvements this time around that will make this event bigger and better than last time. We will release more info as registration approaches.

*Update* – Street Sweepers

We are pleased to announce that we have confirmed street sweepers coming out both days to Airstrip Attack to clear the runway. We know traction is always a concern and although cars exceeding 1000whp will have traction problems nonetheless, we are doing our best to help!

The Breakdown:

Saturday, April 6th

On Saturday, we will have 3 HP tier groups (HP tiers will be determined later);  Throughout the day will be open runs; run whoever you want. At the end of the day on Saturday, we will be having a Sponsor Tuner Shootout, as well as award a winner for each HP tier group. Trophy’s will be received for 1st and 2nd place in each respective class.

Sunday, April 7th

On Sunday, we will have open runs all day again, but at the end of the day we will have our Airstrip Marquee Shootout. The 3 marquee categories are: American Muscle Cars, European Cars (including exotics), and JDM Cars. This shootout will determine the fastest American car, the fastest European car, and the fastest Japanese car. Each winner will receive a trophy for their class.

In addition to the marquee shootouts on Sunday, we will also be having the Official Bimmerpost BMW Shootout to determine the single fastest BMW at the event. This will be a top 8 bracketed shootout. Unlimited horsepower. The winner will receive a customized Bimmerpost/Shift-S3ctor trophy as well.

Who Can Come:

The event is open to all types of cars and all horsepower levels. However, it is a PRIVATE EVENT NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Each registered driver may bring up to 3 guests/crew.  All others who wish to spectate must purchase spectator tickets available here on our website. We are only selling a limited number per day in order to meet our capacity requirements. If you are not a registered driver, a guest of a registered driver, or have secured a spectator spot, YOU WILL NOT BE LET IN THE GATE.

Spectators who purchase tickets are required to print out their email confirmation. We will match it with our access list at the front gate.

Media:

Media teams who wish to cover the event with regard to filming and photography, please contact Ryan: Ryan@shift-s3ctor.com. Media must be on our guest list as well to gain access to Airstrip Attack. We require all media to fill out our media waiver and rights form. You will need to check in at the Media tent to acquire your media vest and badge first thing in the morning. WE DO NOT ALLOW SALES OF PHOTOGRAPHY AT OUR EVENT.

Spectators

*Each driver registration includes one Airstrip Attack T-shirt to be picked up at registration the day of the event.

Pre-Registration:

We will be having a “pre-registration” from 8pm to 10 pm on Friday night at the “SoCal” Hotel location. (See below for lodging). If you are staying at the hotel, it is best to register the night before to get checked in with us. Therefore, you can bypass registration the following morning at the event.

What to bring/Tech:

It is mandatory to bring a helmet (Snell 2000+) and a completely filled out and signed waiver/self tech form. Cars anticipating to run over 199MPH require a mounted fire extinguisher, roll bar, and fire jacket. We do however recommend additional safety equipment FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS including but not limited to: Roll bar or full cage, fire suit and clothing/gloves, fire suppression system, hans or similar type of restraint for neck protection, arm restraints or window net. You are responsible for ensuring the safety and capabilities of your car at this event.

Convertibles require roll over protection: either factory or an aftermarket roll bar.

Hotels and Lodging:

We have reserved discounts at two hotels in the area. The “Socal” location is about 30 minutes south of the Airport and the “Norcal” location is about 30 minutes north of the Airport. Most cars will be at the Socal location.

Socal Location:

We reserved the entire Hotel at Kettleman.  Mention Shift-S3ctor for a discounted rate. We will have overnight security on hand here as well.
