About Airstrip Attack

Founded in 2011 by SHIFT-S3CTOR owners Jason Huang and Ryan Fisher, Airstrip Attack was built from a simple but powerful idea: create a safe, legal environment where high-performance vehicles could be pushed to their true limits.

After meeting through street racing, Huang and Fisher recognized the need for something more than traditional racetrack events. Circuit tracks didn’t offer the space required to explore top-speed performance. What they envisioned demanded something longer, flatter, and built purely for acceleration.

The solution was airport runways.

In February 2012, the first Airstrip Attack took place as a private, invite-only event on the West Coast. There were no spectators, no timing boards—just raw, side-by-side half-mile racing. More than 80 competitors arrived with an eclectic mix of high-performance machinery, from modified Ford GTs and Nissan R32 Skylines to twin-turbo Corvettes and Porsches. The response was immediate. A new form of motorsport had taken flight.

As interest grew, Airstrip Attack evolved from a regional experiment into a national platform. In 2014, a partnership with Ryan Randels of Revvolution.com helped expand the series across multiple states, including Colorado, Oregon, Indiana, Texas, and Kansas. What began on the West Coast quickly became a coast-to-coast championship.

 

 

The Championship Season

Today, Airstrip Attack operates as a structured, multi-event championship series spanning premier airport venues across the United States. Competitors earn points at each round, battling across the season for an overall championship title that represents consistency, speed, and engineering excellence.

Drivers compete within designated performance classes, creating fair yet highly competitive matchups between exotic supercars, American muscle, JDM platforms, motorcycles, and specialty builds. A championship is not won in a single weekend — it demands reliability, strategic tuning, and sustained performance across multiple events.

The introduction of a full-season points format elevated Airstrip Attack beyond individual event wins. It transformed the series into a legitimate motorsports championship, where competitors fight for:

  • Season-long points titles

  • Cash purses and sponsor-backed awards

  • Official championship rings and trophies

  • National and international recognition

With verified speeds well beyond 200 MPH — including multiple 250+ and 260+ MPH passes — Airstrip Attack has become a benchmark not only within the United States, but worldwide. International competitors and global audiences now look to the series as a proving ground for top-speed half-mile performance.

Manufacturers, tuners, and drivers alike use Airstrip Attack as a real-world validation platform — where numbers aren’t theoretical and results aren’t simulated. They’re earned on open runway.
