Shift-S3ctor is proud to announce that our next Airstrip Attack is a 2 day event, November 10th and 11th at the New Coalinga Municipal Airport in Central California (3 hours north of LA, 2 hours south of the Bay area). This will be a 1/2 mile, side by side racing event. Registration opens on September 10th at 10:00 a.m., Pacific Standard Time. We are limiting this event to 100 cars per day and expect to sell out quickly. Once we are full, registration will close and we will begin a wait list.
The Breakdown:
Saturday, November 10th
On Saturday, we will have 2 run groups; a higher HP run group and a lower HP run group. Throughout the day will be open runs; run whoever you want. If desired, an individual can run someone from the other horsepower group, but for the most part your competition will be amongst the cars in your designated group. We can move cars up and down accordingly. At the end of the day on Saturday, we will have a shootout for each run group where winners will be receiving trophies. Following the Unlimited Shootout will be the Tuner Shootout for trophies as well. Each tuner sponsor will elect one of their cars to participate and winners will receive trophies.
Sunday, November 11th
On Sunday, we will have open runs all day again, but at the end of the day we will have our first Airstrip Marquee Shootout. The 3 marquee categories are: American Muscle Cars, European Cars (including exotics), and JDM Cars. This shootout will determine the fastest American car, the fastest European car, and the fastest Japanese car. The winner of each marquee will receive a trophy as well.
Who Can Come:
The event is open to all types of cars and all horsepower levels. However, it is a PRIVATE EVENT NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Each registered driver may bring up to 3 guests/crew. Each sponsored shop may bring up to 10 guests/crew. All others who wish to spectate must purchase spectator tickets available here on our website. We are only selling a limited number per day in order to meet our capacity requirements. If you are not a registered driver, a guest of a registered driver, or have secured a spectator spot, YOU WILL NOT BE LET IN THE GATE.

Pre-Registration:
We will be having a “pre-registration” from 8pm to 10 pm on Friday night at the “SoCal” Hotel location. (See below for lodging). If you are staying at the hotel, it is best to register the night before to get checked in with us. Therefore, you can bypass registration the following morning at the event.
What to bring:
It is mandatory to bring is a helmet (Snell 2000+) and a completely filled out and signed waiver/self tech form. We do however recommend additional safety equipment including but not limited to: Roll bar or full cage. Fire suit and clothing/gloves. Fire suppression system. Hans or similar type of restraint for neck protection. Arm restraints or window net. Please contact us if you have any additional questions.

Hotel and Lodging:
We have reserved discounts at two hotels in the area. The “Socal” location is about 30 minutes south of the Airport and the “Norcal” location is about 30 minutes north of the Airport. Most cars will be at the Socal location.
Socal Location:
We booked 50 rooms at the Best Western in Kettleman City. They’re already filling up. Mention Shift-S3ctor for a discounted rate. We will be hiring private overnight security to watch the vehicles at this location as most cars will be staying at this location.

Rain Policy:
If the entire event is rained out, we will credit for a makeup date. However, based on the location and time of year this is unlikely. If it (for example) is wet in the morning, but dry the entire afternoon, we will not issue credit for partial wetness.

Ryan, we plan on being there all day Saturday with the family. Should we plan on taking our own shade/food or will there be shade/food there?

About how many runs do you think each person is likely to get? I need to plan my fuel.

We anticipate between 7 and 10 runs per individual.
7-10 runs per day or for both days?
Serge at the last event guys got about 6 to 8 runs in per day… we do anticipate the runs will go quicker here because we have a return road this time around. Either way, how quickly the runs go will determine how many runs we get in per car. If cars are breaking down or having issues on track, it will delay everyone else. Thank you.
What is the starting speed before you go full throttle?
We recommend a 50mph roll, but you can agree on whatever speed you wish with your opponent.
Are we allowed to datalog during the runs?(Passenger holds laptop etc.)
Passengers are allowed only after they fill out the passenger waiver form, they must be 18 or over, and have their own helmet.
