Revvolution and Shift-S3ctor announce the return of the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack at the Colorado Springs Airport

Half-mile side-by-side roll racing event adds more excitement to Pikes Peak Speedweek and Colorado Springs

Shift-S3ctor and Revvolution, in conjunction with the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, are proud to announce the second running of the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack, at the Colorado Springs Airport June 26th and 27th, 2015 as part of Pikes Peak Speedweek.

Airstrip Attack is a half-mile side-by-side roll race and trap speed competition featuring hundreds of the fastest, most powerful street cars in the nation. The Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack is the only event in the country where participants have the opportunity to come together at a commercial airport of this size and importance while competing for the title of the Mile High Victor. New for 2015, motorcycles will have the opportunity to participate and the event will be hosting races on two separate runways, simultaneously.

Aviation Director, Dan Gallagher says, “The airport is very excited to be hosting the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack for a second year to showcase our airport and community.”

Thousands of automotive and speed enthusiasts are expected to be in attendance as dozens of the industry’s top manufacturers, personalities and performance and lifestyle organizations come out to participate, support and exhibit at the event.

“With the success of last year, we’re really ramping it up for 2015. First, we are creating a motorcycle class, opening the event up to motorcycle participants. Motorcycles bring a whole new genre of motorsport to the event and we hope to see some cross over between PPIHC and Airstrip Attack participants,” said Shift-S3ctor co-founder Ryan Fisher.

“We’re excited to announce that for 2015 we will be hosting races on two separate runways, simultaneously. Dual runways allow for more races per participant, as well as more room for additional participants. We created the Pro/am class to allow participants to register at an entry-level price point so they can come out and engage in side-by-side roll racing in a safe environment. Essentially, we are doubling the size and scope of the event,” said Revvolution president and co-organizer Ryan Randels.

“It’s not just about the competition; it’s about the enthusiasts, the personalities, the cars, the businesses, the media, the lifestyle and culture,” said Shift-S3ctor co-founder Jason Huang.

Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack takes place the Friday and Saturday leading up to the world’s premier hill climb and the nation’s second oldest motorsports event behind the famed Indy 500, The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

“Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack and the event organizers, Revvolution and Shift-S3ctor, are proud to be fully supported and endorsed by the Colorado Springs Sports Corp, The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and to be an integral part of the reinvigoration of Pikes Peak Speedweek.” said Ryan Randels.
